Global Punjabi Association established Chandigarh Tricity Chapter for the organization in July 2025. The Chandigarh Tricity Chapter of the Global Punjabi Association held their first general meeting on 6 July 2025 at 4:30 PM at House No. 646, Sector 16, Chandigarh. The first meeting of the chapter was held in the chairmanship of Col. Jaibans Singh, Vice President of Global Punjabi Association.
S. Mohinder Singh was announced as the president of the Chandigarh Tricity Chapter. It was confirmed that the venue House No. 646, Sector 16, Chandigarh will serve as the official address and office of Chandigarh Chapter. The premises is graciously provided by S. Mohinder Singh. Discussions were held on various issues regarding expanding the Chapter, forming and executive body and establish committees of members to coordinate different initiatives of the chapter.
It was decided that the first and foremost focus of the chapter will be on commemoration activities of Sh. Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib’s 350th Shaheedi diwas apart from other goals and objectives. Sh. Guru Teg Bahadur’s 350th martyrdom day falls on 24th November 2025 this year. The chapter plans to commemorate the event through host of activities likes book launches on Guru ji’s life and sacrifice, events and seminars to bring forth Guru’s message and create awareness on how and why the 9th Sikh Guru, Sh. Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib made the ultimate sacrifice for protection of freedom of faith of Kashmiri Pandits and human dignity.
Several founding members, including Brig. RPS Kahlon, Col. Vivek Sharma and S. Paramjeet Singh attended the first meeting of the chapter.
