ਮਨ ਰੇ ਕਹਾ ਭਇਓ ਤੇ ਬਉਰਾ ।।
ਅਹਿ-ਨਿਸਿ ਅਉਧ ਘਟੈ ਨਹੀ ਜਾਨੈ ਭਇਓ ਲੋਭ ਸੰਗਿ ਹਉਰਾ ।।੧।। ਰਹਾਉ ।।
ਜੋ ਤਨੁ ਤੈ ਅਪਨੋ ਕਰਿ ਮਾਨਿਓ ਅਰੁ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਨਾਰੀ ।।
ਇਹ ਮਹਿ ਕਛੁ ਤੇਰੋ ਰੇ ਨਾਹਿਨ ਦੇਖਹੁ ਸੋਚਿ ਬਿਚਾਰੀ ।।੧।।
ਰਤਨੁ ਜਨਮੁ ਅਪਨੋ ਤੇ ਹਾਰਿਓ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਗਤਿ ਨਹੀ ਜਾਨੀ ।।
ਨਿਮਖ ਨ ਲੀਨ ਭਇਓ ਚਰਨਨ ਸਿਉ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਅਉਧ ਸਿਰਾਨੀ ।।੨।।
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੋਈ ਨਰੁ ਸੁਖੀਆ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵੈ ।।
ਅਉਰ ਸਗਲ ਜਗੁ ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹਿਆ ਨਿਰਭੈ ਪਦੁ ਨਹੀ ਪਾਵੈ ।।੩।।੮।।

man ray kahaa bha-yo tai ba-uraa ।।
ahi-nis auDh ghatay nahee jaanay bha-yo lobh sang ha-uraa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
jo tan tai apno kar maani-yo ar sundar greh naari ।।
eh meiN kachh tayro ray naahan daykho soch bichaaree. ||1||
ratan janam apno tai haari-o gobind gat nahee jaanee ।।
nimakh na leen bha-i-o charnan siN-o birthaa a-oDh siraanee. ||2||
kaho naanak so-ee nar sukhee-aa raam naam gun gaavai ।।
a-or sagal jag maa-i-aa mohi-aa nirbhai pad nahee paavai. ||3||8||
Meaning:
O mind, why have you gone crazy? Don’t you know that your life is decreasing, day and night? Your life is made worthless with greed. ||1||Pause||
That body, which you believe to be your own, and your beautiful home and spouse – none of these is yours to keep. See this, reflect upon it and understand. ||1||
You have wasted the precious jewel of this human life; you do not know the Way of the Lord of the Universe. You have not been absorbed in the Lord’s Feet, even for an instant. Your life has passed away in vain! ||2||
Says Nanak, that man is happy, who sings the Glorious Praises of the Lord’s Name. All the rest of the world is enticed by Maya; they do not obtain the state of fearless dignity. ||3||8||
