ਸਾਧੋ ਮਨ ਕਾ ਮਾਨੁ ਤਿਆਗਉ ।।
ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਦੁਰਜਨ ਕੀ ਤਾ ਤੇ ਅਹਿਨਿਸਿ ਭਾਗਉ ।। ੧ ।। ਰਹਾਉ ।।
ਸੁਖੁ ਦੁਖੁ ਦੋਨੋ ਸਮ ਕਰਿ ਜਾਨੈ ਅਉਰੁ ਮਾਨੁ ਅਪਮਾਨਾ ।।
ਹਰਖ ਸੋਗ ਤੇ ਰਹੈ ਅਤੀਤਾ ਤਿਨਿ ਜਗਿ ਤਤੁ ਪਛਾਨਾ ।।੧।।
ਉਸਤਿਤ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਦੋਊ ਤਿਆਗੈ ਖੋਜੈ ਪਦੁ ਨਿਰਬਾਨਾ ।।
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਇਹੁ ਖੇਲੁ ਕਠਨੁ ਹੈ ਕਿਨਹੂ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜਾਨਾ ।।੨।।੧।।
Saadho man kaa maan tiaago ।।
Kaam krodh sangat durjan kee taa tay ahinis bhaago. ||1|| Rahao ||
Sukh dukh dono sam kar jaanai aaur maan apmana ।।
Harakh sog tay rahai ateeta tin jag tat pachhana ||1||
Ustat nindaa do-oo ti-aagai khojai pad nirbaanaa ।।
Jan naanak ih khayl kathan hai kinhooN gurmukh jaanaa ||2||1||
Meaning:
Oh holy Saadhus || Forsake the pride of your mind || Run away, day & night, from sexual desire, anger and the company of evil people ||1||Pause||
One who believes and reacts to both, pain & pleasure and honor & dishonor, with the same serenity and remains equally detached from joy & sorrow, that person has realized the true essence of this physical world ||1||
Renounce both praise and blame; seek instead the state of Nirvaanaa. O servant Nanak, this is such a difficult game; only a few Gurmukhs understand it! ||2||1||
