Bani of Ninth Patshah Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib
The Bani of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, the ninth Sikh Guru, holds a profound and significant place in the Guru Granth Sahib, the holy scripture of Sikhism. His compositions were added to the sacred text by his son and the tenth Guru, Guru Gobind Singh Ji.
Guru Tegh Bahadur’s Bani consists of 115 hymns in 15 different ragas, including 57 slokas (couplets) and 58 shabads (hymns). The final part of the Guru Granth Sahib, which consists of a section of salokas, begins with the 57 salokas of the ninth Guru.
His Bani serves as a spiritual guide, offering a path to liberation from the cycle of birth and death through a simple yet powerful message of devotion and self-realization.
